John Amos has sadly passed away at the age of 84. The Emmy-nominated actor was best known for playing the dad, James Evans Sr., on the CBS series Good Times and for his role in the Coming to America movies. The news of John‘s death was announced by his son K.C. Amos, who revealed that he actually passed away more than a month ago. Keep reading to find out more… John died of natural causes on August 21 in Los Angeles. “It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,” K.C. said in a statement (via THR). “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over. Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life.
