John Billingsley & Jeremy Bobb Join Paramount+’s ‘JonBenét Ramsey’ Series In Recurring Roles

EXCLUSIVE: John Billingsley (Manhunt) and Jeremy Bobb (Cabrini) are set for recurring roles opposite Margo Martindale and Clive Owen in JonBenét Ramsey limited series at Paramount+.

In addition to Martindale and Owen, they join previously announced cast members Emily Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Owen Teague, Clifton Collins Jr, Rory Cochrane, Chris Bauer, Angus Caldwell, Shea Whigham, Will Patton, Jaime Ray Newman and Josh Stamberg.

Exec produced by Richard LaGravenese (Behind the Candelabra), who serves as showrunner, JonBenét Ramsey explores the tragic unsolved murder of the six-year-old beauty queen of the same name. The show follows the Ramsey family, before and after the tragedy, as they go through the painful loss of a child, while facing intense public scrutiny caused by a media frenzy that caused this case to captivate an entire nation. At the heart of the series is the story of Patsy and John Ramsey – exploring the unbreakable partnership of these two complex people – as husband and wife, as mother and father – who had committed themselves and their children to building the narrative of a perfect, privileged life, only to have it destroyed one Christmas night in 1996.

Billingsley will play Bill McReynolds. A neighbor of the Ramseys, friendly with an earnest, over-the-top naivete. Bill has always played Santa at the neighborhood Christmas parties, and he does so at the Ramseys’ party this year.

Bobb will portray Pete Hofstrom, thhe Boulder Deputy District Attorney who seemingly sides with the Ramseys’ once the tragedy strikes.

Production is taking place in Calgary, Canada. Four of the eight episodes, including the first episode, will be directed by Anne Sewitsky (Presumed Innocent), who will also serve as executive producer.

The series was created and written by Harrison Query and Tommy Wallach who sold it as a pitch to producers MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, McCarthy, and Anne Sewitsky, who also directs four episodes, will executive produce with writers La Gravenese, Query and Wallach.

Billingsley recently recurred in Apple TV+’s limited series Manhunt. In film, he appeared opposite Elizabeth Banks in Skincare from director Austin Peters, and opposite Aubrey Plaza in Emily the Criminal from director John Patton Ford. Billingsley is represented by Greene Talent and Trademark Talent.

Bobb recently completed filming two Apple TV+ series: The Savant opposite Jessica Chastain, and Government Cheese opposite David Oyelowo. In film, his most recent credits include Cabrini and Butcher’s Crossing opposite Nicolas Cage. He was also recently seen in God’s Country, Goodnight Mommy and Under the Silver Lake, among others. Bobb is repped by Gersh and Suskin/Karshan Management.
