Self-proclaimed Wrestling God John Bradshaw Layfield has had a successful career in WWE. At one point in time, he was the longest-reigning WWE Champion. Before he found success in the singles division, JBL was part of one of the most successful tag teams in WWE with Ron Simmons. The duo called themselves APA.
Recently, John Bradshaw Layfield took to Twitter to share some words of praise for his former tag team partner, Ron Simmons. The self-proclaimed Wrestling God claimed that it was the WWE Hall of Famer was the person who made him the wrestler he is.
“Loved being JBL, but if I had been a member of APA till my retirement with Ron, I’d have happily taken it. Ron had just gotten ready to retire and wow did he help make me a heel when I didn’t leave with him! He made me in every way. Love that man,” John Bradshaw Layfield tweeted.

Recently, the WWE legend was managing former WWE King of the Ring winner Baron Corbin. While that lasted only for a few weeks, JBL seemed to have enjoyed the role. During an episode of Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, the self-proclaimed Wrestling God discussed his time as the manager of Baron Corbin.
“It’s the same Baron Corbin, and no difference,” JBL said. “I liked Baron and I still like Baron and Baron’s a very talented guy. He’s won a lot of championships, André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, he just won some judo competition. Baron’s a big, tough, athletic guy. Played pro football and people ask me all the time and generally, I would never answer because I don’t like talking about current storylines.
“I don’t think you should talk about — in my opinion — because I think it hurts if you’re involved and even though I’m not involved in that current storyline anymore, but I answered it on Dutch Mantell’s podcast. So I’m certainly gonna answer it on this one.” [H/T POST Wrestling]
