John Cena will always be regarded as the OG WWE guy, but he is very aware of the ongoing war between his company and their rival competitor, AEW led by their President and CEO, Tony Khan.
AEW emerged as the second-biggest wrestling promotion and a direct competitor to WWE back in 2019, luring away top talents from the global juggernaut like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Bryan Danielson.
After the conclusion of the Monday Night Wars in the 1990s, WWE had faced no major threat in years until Tony Khan and AEW burst onto the scene going head-to-head with them each and every week.
During recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, John Cena acknowledged the war between both companies and stated that there is room for competition for them, unlike any sport in the world.
“”There’s room for competition and competition is great. Just because you don’t wear the company brand I have doesn’t mean you are a bad performer.”
On the other hand, John Cena was last seen at WWE Crown Jewel where he suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Solo Sikoa. Moreover, there has been some speculation regarding Cena’s involvement in WrestleMania 40, so it will be interesting to see if The Champ actually makes it for The Show of Shows this year.
