When asked about Vince McMahon, John Cena said that he would rather focus on the present.

During the Vince McMahon regime, John Cena became a 16-time world champion in WWE. Cena had long since transitioned into a part-time role when Triple H took over as the head of creative in 2022 as McMahon had retired amid allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money. McMahon later resigned from WWE and TKO in January 2024 after the allegations of sexual abuse and sex trafficking Janel Grant made in her lawsuit. Cena then returned to WWE at WWE Money in the Bank and announced his plans to retire in 2025.

Speaking at the WWE Money in the Bank Post-Show, John Cena was asked to comment on what Vince McMahon has meant to his career and how he has processed what has come out.

“Well, surely an uncomfortable question,” John Cena said. “Man, I really would much rather talk about what’s ahead of us, and that’s really important. I’ve been pretty honest with my opinion to answer that question, and if you didn’t see it, I know you can dig it up somewhere.”

“I think we’re on the precipice of something pretty special, and as the business evolves and continues to evolve, damn, it’s in pretty good hands with the TKO folks. Again, I think if you want that information, you dig hard enough, you can find it. Thank you, though. Thank you. Appreciate the courage.”
