John Pasquin To Direct & Exec Produce ABC Comedy Pilot ‘Shifting Gears’

EXCLUSIVE: John Pasquin (The Santa Clause, Home Improvement) is reuniting with his frequent collaborator Tim Allen to direct and executive produce ABC multi-camera comedy pilot Shifting Gears (working title), starring Allen and Kat Dennings, from 20th Television.

Written by Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully, Shifting Gears centers on Matt (Allen), the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter Riley (Dennings) and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.

Pasquin and Allen executive produce Shifting Gears with the Scullys along with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker and Rick Messina. Dennings is producing. Shifting Gears (wt) is produced by 20th Television.

Pasquin is an acclaimed producer/director, known for his work in film and television. Pasquin teamed with Allen as director of holiday classic The Santa Clause, which earned him People’s Choice Award. He produced and directed ABC’s Home Improvement, earning two Emmy Award nominations, and served as director and executive producer of Last Man Standing. His other directing credits include Jungle 2 Jungle and Joe Somebody. He also produced and directed the feature Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, starring Sandra Bullock. Pasquin is repped by CAA.
