Several people involved with Joker: Folie a Deux have addressed the movie’s dramatic underperformance. Keep reading to find out more… During a call with analysts this week, CEO David Zaslav described the movie’s performance as “disappointing,” via Variety. He noted that “inconsistency also remains an issue at our motion picture studio.” While on The Joe Rogan podcast, actor Tim Dillon slammed Joker 2 for being “the worst film ever made.” The comedian appeared in the film as a guard at Arkham. “I think what happened, after the first Joker, there was a lot of talk like, ‘Ooh, this was loved by incels. This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. This sent the wrong kind of message. Male rage! Nihilism!’ All these think pieces. And then I think ‘What if we went the other way?’ And now they have Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga tap dancing to a point where it’s insane,” he reflected, via The Hollywood Reporter. He said that the movie had “no plot” and that cast members thought that it was “going to bomb” while they filmed it. “We were talking about it at lunch, and we’d go, ‘What is the plot? Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he falls in love with her in the prison?’ … It’s not even hate watchable. That’s how terrible it is,” he said.
