Jon Bon Jovi helped prevent a woman from jumping off a bridge in some of the most distressing footage we’ve ever seen.
The Livin’ On A Prayer singer just happened to be in the right place at the right time on Tuesday evening to help save a woman’s life. In heart-pounding footage released by the Metro Nashville Police Department on Wednesday, an unidentified woman can be seen standing on the outside of a railing of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville, Tennessee. She clenches on to the railing as multiple passerby walk past her, but Jon, who just so happened to be in the area to shoot a music video for his song People’s House, noticed her and couldn’t stand idly by.

The 62-year-old slowly approaches the woman and leans on the railing at a distance to begin speaking with her. Another pedestrian joins the mix and the three speak for a while before Jon and the other compassionate pedestrian are able to talk the woman into returning to the safe side of the railing. They help her over and embrace her in a huge hug before walking away together. It’s not clear what the they spoke about, but you can see the heart-stopping footage (below):
WOW. What a hero! Sometimes the exact thing a person needs is a bit of warmth from another human… and it just makes it all the more special when that person is Jon Bon Jovi.
A source told Page Six that the It’s My Life singer is trained in navigating crises like this because of his Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which aims to “maximize the human potential in those affected by hunger, poverty and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide food and affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs.”
The insider also claimed that Jon will not be addressing the situation publicly out of respect for the individual, but the MNPD thanked him in a heartfelt post on Facebook:
“A shout out to Jon Bon Jovi and his team for helping a woman in #Nashville on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge Tuesday night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. ‘It takes all of us to help keep each other safe’ — Chief John Drake”
Thank goodness for Jon Bon Jovi!
