Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley aims to reach a new level as a wrestler by the end of 2024.

Jon Moxley recently discussed how 2023 was a difficult year, but he had an epiphany in December that turned it around. In an interview with ComicBook.com‘s Christian Hoffer, Jon Moxley discussed his mindset about the new year.

“Now it’s a new year and stuff, and I’m like, ‘2024 is going to be my year,'” Jon Moxley said. “I don’t know, many times in my career I feel like I got a little momentum brewing in myself. A lot of times the universe will bow to your whims if you make it so, and many times where I almost feel like exactly what I feel.

“I feel like I know something the rest of the world doesn’t know yet. They’re not even looking at me. They’ve completely written me off and have no idea I’m coming and I’m about to blow everybody’s world up. Like I know a secret the rest of the world doesn’t know kind of thing.”

Jon Moxley Doesn’t Want To Be Boxed In

Jon Moxley went on to describe how he doesn’t want people to put him in a box by limiting him to a specific category or placing him at a certain level. He stated that he aims to break those boxes, even if it’s all in his head.

“Even when you do good, a lot of times people get stuck where they are,” Jon Moxley said. “I think I’m constantly boxed in and people want to categorize me and think of me in a certain way and place me at a certain level. And I’m not into that at all.

“Even if I’m making all that up in my head, that’s fine because then that just gives me more motivation. My entire life, usually the best motivations come from breaking out of whatever box somebody’s trying to place me in, even if it’s just all in my head.”

Jon Moxley Is Determined To Reach A New Level

Jon Moxley also described how he is focused on trying to reach higher and become a different wrestler by the end of the year. He stated that it seemed like some people wanted to write him off, and he didn’t like that.

“I feel like I can feel it, I can sense it, I can visualize it,” Jon Moxley said. “I don’t think people are expecting that and are wanting to already write off my career or place me in where exactly I am. And I don’t necessarily like that. Maybe I fail miserably. But this year will be an exercise in me trying to go even further and get even better. And hopefully at the end of 2024, if you want to measure it by that is 2025, I’ll be a completely different wrestler at a completely different level.”
