Jon Moxley has officially earned a shot at Bryan Danielson’s AEW World Championship, beating Darby Allin tonight at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam to punch a ticket to a match.
It had been quite some time since Moxley and Allin agreed to the match, and despite having the original shot himself, Allin was confident in the weeks leading up to the bout that he would be able to beat Moxley.
Unfortunately for him, Moxley was able to walk out with the victory. The end saw both Moxley and Allin standing on the top rope, and Allin attempting to suplex Moxley off of it. Moxley was able to reverse it, however, and hit a Death Rider from the top rope to secure the win.
After the match, Danielson came sprinting down to the ring, and tried his best to lock Moxley into a submission. Moxley wasn’t having it, though, and a brawl between a ton of superstars broke out. The night ended with Danielson officially issuing a challenge to Moxley for a match for the title at AEW WrestleDream.
