Jonathan Bailey is headed back to the stage with a starring role in a new production of William Shakespeare‘s Richard II. The 36-year-old Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers actor is set to play the titular character in a 2025 production of the show directed by Nicholas Hytner. This will mark Jonathan‘s first theater role since 2022′s Cock and is his highest-profile role in a Shakespeare story to date. Keep reading to find out more… The Guardian broke the news about Jonathan‘s casting, noting that it will be his first time working with Nicholas since 2013′s Othello. Jonathan is no stranger to Shakespeare productions. He played Cassio in Othello and Edgar in King Lear back in 2017. The latter united him with Ian McKellen. The production of Richard II will take place at the Bridge Theatre in London, England. It is scheduled to open on February 10, 2025 and will run through May 10.
