Jordan Henderson has taken part in his first Ajax training session after his high-profile move from Al Ettifaq.
The England midfielder has been cleared to train after receiving his work permit, and could well feature in his new side’s next Eredivisie match against Heracles on Saturday.

Henderson was seen grinning on his way out to the De Toekomst training ground pitch after signing a two-and-a-half year contract on January 18.
He then showed off some silky skills, before having to run through a tunnel of slaps from his teammates as part of an initiation.
The 33-year-old earlier cut short his brief and controversial stay in the Saudi Pro League after just six months to join the Dutch giants and four-time European champions.

Before that, Henderson was an all-conquering captain of Liverpool, playing for the Reds from 2011 to 2023.
After training had finished, it was the turn of Ajax’s U18s to make use of the De Toekomst pitch, and they didn’t disappoint.
Coincidentally, Ajax were facing Henderson’s old team of Liverpool’s U18s, and if he stuck around to watch he would have witnessed a demolition job.
Ajax obliterated the young Reds 10-0 in the friendly encounter, showing the new midfielder another reason why his new club is so special - their incredible academy.
