Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed his plans to return to management next season, after being sacked by Serie A outfit AS Roma earlier this season.

Despite being without a job for a few months and being linked to several, Mourinho is currently unemployed and waiting for the right opportunity to arise before returning to management.

Speaking to Sky Italia at the Ducati garage ahead of the Portuguese GP, Mourinho said: “Now I’m free, but in the summer I want to coach. It’s going well in Portugal too.”

Part of me feels that Mourinho is auditioning for the England national team job, granted Gareth Southgate is replaced after the European Championships later this year.

Or does Mourinho have another big job in European club football left in him? I would be shocked if he was hired by Bayern Munich and he’s never going to manage Liverpool.

Mourinho can forget about a United return too… surely?

The last thing we need is extra toxicity in the dressing room and he brought enough of that during his previous spell at Old Trafford.
