Jose Mourinho was fired by Roma last month and he is still looking for a new job.
The Portuguese manager has been linked with a number of jobs in the Premier League. Newcastle United, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with the former Real Madrid manager.
Mourinho has his sights set on the position at Bayern Munich, as reported by Christian Falk of the German publication Bild.
The 61-year-old is reportedly eager for the position and has even started preparing in case it becomes available. It’s been rumored that Mourinho has been studying German, indicating his desire to lead the Bavarians.
The two-time Champions League champion is also said to have “flirted” with assuming command at Munich in the past.
As Bayern dropped five points behind league leader Bayer Leverkusen this week, current manager Thomas Tuchel is coming under increasing criticism.
After losing 3-0 to their Bundesliga rivals, the German powerhouses now have a steep uphill climb to win a 33rd Bundesliga crown.
Mourinho’s time at Roma was inconsistent but he did have some high moments in the Italian capital city. He managed to win the Europa Conference League with them.
The Portuguese has been unable to find success in his managerial career for a long time. His last major trophy was with Manchester United when he guided them to the Europa League title.
A move to the Saudi Pro League has also been mentioned by some sections of the media as Mourinho looks for a job to resume his career.
