The Trades Union Congress (TUC), Ghana has elected Joshua Ansah as the substantive Secretary General for a four-year tenure.
Until his election, he was the Deputy Secretary General of the TUC.
He replaces Dr Anthony Yaw Baah whose tenure has ended after two terms in office.
Mr Ansah contested unopposed at the just-ended 12th quadrennial conference of the TUC held at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.

The conference which saw the election of new executives was on the theme: “75 years of building stronger unions in a challenging world of work”.
For the chairmanship position, Mr Bernard Owusu was elected to fill the post. He takes over from Alex Opoku-Nyarko.
Mr Owusu until he was elected Chairman of TUC, was the National Chairman of the General Transport Petroleum Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU).
Bernard Owusu polled 347 votes to defeat Alex Opoku-Nyarko, who was seeking to extend his tenure.
