Marcus Rashford has just netted his second goal in back-to-back matches, having opened his account for the season away to Southampton last Saturday.

Erik ten Hag and the Manchester United faithful will be hoping that his sublime finish this evening is a reflection of where his confidence is at following a turbulent period in his career.

Even prior to the ‘brilliant’ opener, Rashford was deemed the ‘sharpest and most alert’ on the ball by journalist Samuel Luckhurst after a comfortable first half-hour from the Red Devils.

Leading the line in Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund’s absence, the 26-year-old is certainly repaying his manager’s faith, as he has started each of United’s four Premier League matches thus far, as well as the Community Shield final.

Fans know better than anyone that Rashford thrives when he’s full of self-belief, and that will only come with each goal contribution and high-quality performance he gets under his belt.
