Jude Bellingham is having difficulty digesting the two-match suspension imposed on him by the Spanish La Liga.

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has protested against his new suspension in the Spanish league.

Bellingham was handed a two-match ban for insulting the referee after the draw against Valencia. Real have appealed this decision, with the hope that the punishment will be reduced.

Bellingham contests his sanction

“I didn’t say anything offensive and I didn’t say anything different than what my teammates said. There’s no reason to worry, but I think sometimes, because I’m new, they want to make an example of me.”declared the former Dortmund to the daily Marca.

“At the end of the day I have to take responsibility for my actions and I’m not proud, but I think two games for that is a bit ridiculous. But if it ends like this, I have to accept my responsibility and I will applaud from the stands.”

Bellingham has played 22 of Real’s 27 La Liga matches this season. He scored 16 goals and 3 assists. He still remains the top scorer in the championship, with one more goal than Getafe’s Mayoral.
