Alec Baldwin’s legal team recently filed a motion to dismiss his involuntary manslaughter charge in connection with the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust…but a judge shot it down.

This means the Hollywood actor will likely stand trial this summer.

The Hollywood actor was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after fatally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico movie set in October 2021. At the time, he was practicing a cross-draw when the gun fired. He says he was told the weapon was not “hot” but the weapon did have bullets in the chamber.

Both charges are fourth-degree felonies, punishable by up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine.

It was recently reported that his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, is open to joining the cast of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“Hilaria is terrified of losing all the attention she’s gained as the wife of a Hollywood star if he’s away in prison. This would be the perfect fit,” the source says, according to Radar Online. “She loves being the center of attention. This is a win-win for her, especially if Alec winds up cooling his heels behind bars.”
