The Football Observatory (CIES) presented, this Wednesday, a list of outfield players who played the greatest number of official matches in 2024 (club and national team), taking into account players from around the world. Jules Koundé tops the list with 5,872 minutes spread across 69 matches. The French international will play this weekend, against Atlético de Madrid, his 70th match of the year. He is ahead of Jhon Arias (Flumiense / Colombia) and his 5,599 minutes in 67 matches, as well as Federico Valverde (Real Madrid / Uruguay) who has 5,573 minutes in 66 matches.
With 5,264 minutes in 61 matches, Wiliam Saliba (Arsenal) ranks 10th. Jonathan David (Lille / Canada) is the only Ligue 1 player to be in the top 20. The Canadian international has played 5,111 minutes spread across 63 matches. Victor Gyökeres (Sporting / Sweden) is 19th with 5,092 minutes in 60 matches played during this calendar year.
