End clap for Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool! This Sunday during a 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton, the German coach ended his adventure with the Reds where he will have written the most beautiful moments of his career. Winner of the 2019 Champions League, the 2020 Premier League, the 2020 Club World Cup, the 2020 UEFA Super Cup, the 2022 and 2024 Carabao Cup, the 2022 FA Cup and the European Super Cup. England 2023, Jürgen Klopp will have left his mark on the English club by becoming one of its key figures. 489 matches at the head of the Reds which cause a lot of exhaustion for the German coach. “If you asked me, ‘Will you ever train again?’, today I would say no. But I don’t know how things will turn out since I’ve obviously never been in this situation.” he explained last January.
Now, the former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund player has had time to think and digest this choice. After receiving praise from the Reds against Wolverhampton, Jürgen Klopp will be able to rest and recover his strength before possibly starting another project. In any case, this break will be very important for the 56-year-old coach and he wants above all to make the most of it, as he confided: “I have no idea (of what I will do tomorrow, editor’s note). I have enough things to do, private life also needs to be planned, but I have been here to do things and probably Ulla (his wife) will tell me where we are going. I have no idea what’s coming. We have a party tonight.”
Jürgen Klopp needs to regain strength
Jürgen Klopp knows that he will be a sought-after coach and that many clubs will try to approach him. However, he explained that he was not going to follow this closely and will wait for the right moment if he has to embark on another project. This shouldn’t happen next season since he really needs to cut: “I’m not looking for the next opportunity and what clubs are available and stuff like that. There will be opportunities, but I don’t think and say to myself “maybe in a year I will seize them”.
On the other hand, Jürgen Klopp is surprised to see that everyone is waiting for him to start a project again. The German coach emphasized again and as often in his career that he did not see himself continuing as a coach until an advanced age: “I don’t know why no one believes that I will never be manager of a club again, but I guess it’s because this job seems like a drug, there’s a lot of comebacks and all the people work in the profession until they are 70 years old. People can function differently, I need to feel the spark, to have the energy, I need all those things. But I’m empty.”
