Terrorists struck on Sunday night, kidnapping 87 individuals in a fresh assault on the Kajuru-Station community in Kaduna State’s Kajuru Local Government Area.
Confirming the incident, Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, spoke on the incident on Monday in Kaduna. He said, “The terrorists invaded the village around 10 pm, seizing 87 people and looting shops for food items and valuables.”
This abduction occurred just days after 15 women and a man were taken captive in the Dogon-Noma community within the same local government area, heightening tensions in the region.
Harisu expressed concern over the lack of security presence following the abduction, stating, “As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers. The villagers are traumatized by the sad development. The government needs to re-strategize in tackling these terrorists.”
This abduction marks another grim chapter in the recent surge of kidnappings in Kaduna, particularly in Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas. Over the past two weeks, the region has seen over 172 villagers abducted by these criminal elements.
Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, for comments proved unsuccessful as calls and text messages sent to him by our correspondent remained unanswered at the time of filing this report.
