Following the injury to Marc Bernal, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season, the Blaugrana are considering the possibility of signing a new midfielder on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

While a number of players are understood to have been offered to the club, the Blaugrana have set their sights on Bajcetic as an option.

€4 million loan fee

As per the report from Romano, Barcelona want to sign the 19-year-old midfield prospect from Liverpool on a plain loan deal.

The Blaugrana are even offering a loan fee of €4 million to sign the Spanish midfielder, who is also a subject of transfer interest from RB Salzburg.

Indeed, the Austrian club tabled a loan bid for Bajcetic on Tuesday but Barcelona are now hoping to beat them with a swift move.

Considering that the 19-year-old is unlikely to command a big salary, the Catalans might not have any problems registering him. And, a loan move would mean that the risk would be minimal.

Bajcetic has been with Liverpool since January 2021 when he joined the Reds from the Celta Vigo youth academy.

Having risen through the ranks, the 19-year-old in 2022 and has gone on to make 22 senior appearances for the Premier League club, in which he even has a goal.

With Barcelona acting swiftly following Marc Bernal’s injury, it will be interesting to see if they can land the Liverpool midfielder’s services on loan.
