Barcelona are ever so close to announcing their second major signing of the summer transfer window, with Dani Olmo set to arrive from RB Leipzig.

After weeks of negotiating with the Bundesliga club, the Blaugrana finally reached an agreement over a transfer on Tuesday.

Barcelona will be paying a fixed transfer fee of €55 million plus another €7 million in variables to sign the former La Masia trainee, who has agreed a six-year contract.

Medicals completed

Now, TV3 reports that Dani Olmo has even completed his medicals and passed them successfully, taking him one step closer to becoming a new Barcelona player.

Olmo travelled to Barcelona last night itself along with his father, agent, and the club’s sporting director Deco.

The Blaugrana had planned extensive medical check-ups for the 26-year-old Spanish international considering his past track record when it comes to injuries.

After all, Olmo has had issues with his knee in the past while more recently a shoulder injury had him out of action for more than two months.

However, the Spanish international, who won the UEFA Euro 2024 this summer, is understood to have passed his medicals successfully with no issues.

The announcement of his signing, thus, might not be far away, with the club hoping to have him ready in time for the Joan Gamper Trophy match against AS Monaco on August 12.

Olmo will become the second first-team signing of the summer for Barcelona after they brought in Pau Victor from Girona.

Nico Williams still remains on the Catalans’ agenda for the summer while attempts are also being made to re-sign Joao Cancelo on loan from Manchester City.
