Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has failed to take part in the Council of State meeting which took place on Tuesday (today).
The crucial meeting was the very first Council of State convoked and presided over by President Bola Tinubu since he took over power. Obasanjo’s absence was very conspicuous as he was not present physically nor did he join virtually as some past Heads of State who could not make it there did.
Obasanjo’s absence comes a few days after he knocked the Tinubu’s government over some of its decisions that have worsened the situation of things in the country.
During the meeting, President Tinubu received a vote of confidence from members of the Council of State, comprising former Presidents and past Heads of State, as well as former Chief Justices of the Federation.
Former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari were present at the meeting, while Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar joined virtually.
