JUST IN: Peter Obi Reacts To Junior Pope’s Tragic Death In Anambra River

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nollywood actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, widely known as Junior Pope, describing it as devastating.

Junior Pope and others died after they fell into Anam River in Anambra State on their way back from a movie shoot.

Obi, in his post, lauded Junior Pope as an energetic actor who brought both entertainment and enlightenment to Nigerians through his comedic performances in movies and skits. Posting on X, Obi stated, “I am shocked by the reports of the death of yet another vibrant Nollywood actor… His death is yet another great loss to the entertainment industry…”

Obi continued, “Death is a very painful experience, but the death of a young one with a promising future is even more devastating… I sincerely commiserate with his family and the families of others who also lost their lives in the boat accident.”

He extended condolences to the Actors Guild of Nigeria and the entire entertainment industry, praying, “May God give them, and all of us, the fortitude to bear this sad irreplaceable loss, and grant eternal rest to the dead. -PO”
