A sudden rainstorm wreaked havoc on Obafemi Awolowo University’s amphitheater, causing its roof to collapse during a class session.
The development also resulted in injuries to four students. They have been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
An eyewitness, known as The Great Ife on Twitter, under the handle #IfeCampus, reported the incident, stating, “There was a whirlwind that collapsed the covering inside Amphi theatre. Four people have been rushed to the hospital as of 8:45 am.”
“The students were initially taken to Seventh Day Adventist Hospital but were refused admission. They have now been transferred to OAUTHC, and the Vice-Chancellor is currently at the hospital with the injured students.”
