JUST IN: Trump Wins Big In US States, Set To Win Nomination

Former United States President Donald Trump emerged victorious in the Republican presidential nominating caucuses held in Nevada and the US Virgin Islands on Thursday, solidifying his position as the frontrunner for his party’s candidacy in the upcoming presidential election in November.

With no significant contenders challenging him, Trump secured a decisive win in Nevada’s caucuses, earning all 26 delegates allocated to the state for the party’s nominating convention in July. Earlier the same day, he also clinched an easy victory in the US Virgin Islands caucuses, adding four more delegates to his tally.

In the US Virgin Islands, Trump garnered 74 percent of the votes, amounting to 182 votes out of 246 cast, leaving his sole rival, Nikki Haley, far behind with only 26 percent support and 64 votes.

Despite being the lone major candidate on the Republican primary ballot in Nevada, Haley suffered a significant defeat as the majority of voters opted for the “none of these candidates” option, which garnered 63 percent of the vote compared to Haley’s 30 percent.

Expressing gratitude for the support received, Trump stated, “I want to thank the great people of Nevada,” noting the “beautiful sight to watch” of Thursday’s Supreme Court arguments in Las Vegas following his triumph.

Having secured consecutive wins in Iowa and New Hampshire last month, Trump’s path to winning the Republican nomination appears increasingly likely.
