The Provincial Court of Las Palmas rejected the appeal of the defense of Raúl Asencio, now an investigation for its alleged involvement, with other former teammates, in the broadcast of a sexual video featuring a young girl of 16 years old, according to information from Spanish newspapers El Confidencial And El Pais. The case dates back to September 2023, when the mother of the minor filed a complaint, saying that sexual relations had been recorded without the knowledge of young girls and that the video was then shared via private messaging groups.

ASENCIO, accused only of broadcast, had asked for the abandonment of the prosecution. But this request has been refused and it remains under investigation. The offense is liable to five years' imprisonment according to Spanish law. In addition to Raúl Asencio, three other players are also targeted by the investigation: Ferrán Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez and Andrés García, who no longer play for the club. The accusations relate to alleged crimes of discovery and disclosure of secrets, as well as infantile pornography. The case continues to be the subject of an in -depth investigation by the judicial authorities and to defray the chronicle in the press in Spain.
