Sources in Justin Baldoni‘s camp responded to one of the latest developments in his legal standoff with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. If you haven’t been keeping up, Blake sued Justin, who directed and shared the screen with her in It Ends With Us, in December 2024. He responded with a lawsuit of his own this month. This week, Justin‘s lawyer Bryan Freedman released raw footage of Blake and Justin filming a scene, which was referenced in both lawsuits. In response, Blake‘s team filed court documents seeking a judge to stop Bryan from sharing evidence and making statements about the lawsuits. What exactly are they after and how does Justin‘s team feel? We can explain. Keep reading to find out more… Blake and Ryan are seeking a protective order against Bryan, which would prevent him from making more statements about the case in the press. It’s important to note that this is not a “gag order,” which would totally bar him from discussing the case and is generally not allowed in New York. According to reporting by Variety, the couple claimed that Bryan violated rules that stop a legal team from “making public statements that have a substantial likelihood of prejudicing the jury.” “Federal litigation must be conducted in court and according to the relevant rules of professional conduct,” they said in the documents. However, sources close to Justin told Variety that attempts to silence Bryan were “grossly unfair,” pointing out that the legal battle started when Blake shared alleged text messages with The New York Times in what his team described as a “takedown campaign.” Justin responded by suing the NYT for libel. Amid this latest development, reports revealed that Justin‘s team is putting together a website that included all of the messages that are appearing in the lawsuits. An intimacy coordinator also pointed out some red flags in the footage that Justin‘s team shared.
