Juventus are considering the future of Federico Chiesa, with the winger’s contract expiring next year and no new deal agreed, a summer transfer is a possibility.
The 26-year-old joined Juve from Fiorentina in 2020 and has made 113 appearances since then, scoring 28 goals in all competitions.
A nightmare ACL injury saw him miss most of 2022, but while he has returned to fitness since then he is struggling for form and being able to make an impact this season.
Juventus are second in the Serie A table, but back-to-back defeats have left them seven points behind leaders Inter Milan and their title hopes in a mess, with changes in the summer a possibility.
Chiesa is a possible high-profile departure as discussions have begun over a new contract but no agreement has been reached.
The Italy international is one of the higher earners at the club and there is no guarantee that the player and club will come to terms on a fresh contract.
With his deal expiring in 2025, the Turin club will want to cash in on him this summer if no new agreement looks likely to be reached.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that a transfer fee could be as low as €25m (£21.4m), which will certainly tempt in plenty of interested parties if so.
Liverpool have long been linked with the Italian, with TuttoSport reporting that the Reds maintain that interest and could launch a summer bid to kick off the post-Jurgen Klopp era.
There were reports last year that Chiesa and Juventus boss Max Allegri had fallen out, but the player moved to deny those rumours.
He told Amazon Prime Italia: ‘I’ve never had a problem with the coach, this was just created by the media. I do whatever he asks, there’s no issue here.
‘I know you lot like it when Juve start the season badly, so you can start with pointless gossip, but we are all behind the coach and want to bring Juve back to the years of dominating the Scudetto race.’
