Juventus are in negotiations with Manchester United over a deal to sign Jadon Sancho, according to reports in Italy.
Sancho remains at United; seemingly unwanted due to recent team selections and uninterested if you believe the word on the street. The best scenario would be for the winger to find a new club, but buyers haven’t be easy to find this summer.
The former Borussia Dortmund forward has been back in the first-team picture at United over the summer, a year on from his public spat with manager Erik ten Hag which rightly resulted in him being frozen out of the first-team squad.
Then opened the door to Sancho leave on loan midway through last season. He joined former club Borussia Dortmund on a temporary deal before returning to take part in United’s pre-season preparations.
However, Sancho was left out of the matchday squad for the Premier League curtain-raiser win over Fulham at Old Trafford. He is likely to be left out again this weekend amid reports of a move ahead of transfer deadline day.
Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho are all ahead of Sancho in the pecking order at United.
RMC claim Juventus have launched a pursuit to sign Sancho, with negotiations underway between the two clubs.
The report states United are demanding a fee of around €30m (€25m) for Sancho’s signature.
Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG have all been linked with moves for Sancho this summer.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Ten Hag kept his cards close to his chest when asked about selecting Sancho for Saturday’s trip to Brighton.
“We will see,” said Ten Hag, as per BBC Sport. “We have a squad, I hipe we will have a squad with double positioning and when we go into the season after September 1, that means you can’t select all the players but you need them all throughout the season.
“We have to manage it, the attitude of the players is very important, sometimes they will be disappointed they have to deal with it, you win as a squad.
“The prizes are decided next May and until then we need all the players in the squad and highly motivated, that is not an expectation, that is a demand on the squad.”
Juventus consider loan deal for Sancho
In another update, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports: “Juventus are looking for offensive wingers and in addition to Nico Gonzalez they have also returned to thinking about Jadon Sancho.
“The Bianconeri are thinking about a loan with an obligation to buy under certain conditions set at £40 million.”
Di Marzio also states that Sancho’s salary of €20m gross at United could prove to be a hurdle for the Old Lady.
