Juventus must pay €80 million for 4 players

Juventus got off to a good start in August, with two 3-0 successes which validated the choices of sports management. The main one being the launch of a new project, played by Thiago Motta, inducted on the sidelines, with youth, and fewer stars. This is also why Paul Pogba was invited to find another base after the reduction of his suspension. Juve has also been active on the transfer market, to give freshness to the squad. Di Gregorio, Kalulu, Nico Gonzalez, Francisco Conceição and Koopmeiners arrived.

And as is often the case in Serie A, these deals were orchestrated with the aim of spreading out payments. For the first 4 of them, Juve will soon have to pay, as recalled this Thursday La Gazzetta dello Sport. Example with the transfer of Michele Di Gregorio, the Italian goalkeeper bought from Monza. This took the form of a paying loan of €4.5 million, then an additional €13.5 million payable in 3 installments, then a €2 million bonus once the final transfer was made. French defender Pierre Kalulu left Milan for €3.3 million, payable in two installments, and will definitively belong to Juventus when the club exercises the buyout by paying an additional 14 million, in 3 installments maximum.

Transfers to pay that accumulate

Same scenario for the Argentinian Nico Gonzalez, recruited from Fiorentina (€8 million paid loan, €25 million purchase obligation and €5 million bonus) and the Portuguese Francisco Conceição (€7 million paid loan, and €3 million in possible bonuses, €30 million in purchase options). This method allowed Juventus to be very active last summer, to launch its new project, but this necessarily weighs on the rest of the events. Particularly because the results are no longer there. The Old Lady, penalized by injuries, lacks offensive solutions, and records far too many draws (10 already in Serie A, for 7 victories, and a 6th place).

Therefore, she would like to help her coach during the winter transfer window, in particular by recruiting an attacker. The most obvious solution leads to Joshua Zirkzee, in difficulty at Manchester United who recruited him last summer from Bologna, Thiago Motta’s former club. Randal Kolo Muani is also mentioned, while Juve have already approached PSG for a possible loan of Milan Skriniar. But since it will have to pay €80 million in the coming weeks and months for players already in the squad, the Turin team does not have free rein on the transfer market…
