Manchester United are reportedly keen on Juventus midfielder Federico Chiesa.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Reds are very interested in the 26-year-old and they could make a move to sign the wide attacker at the end of the season.

Chiesa, an established Italy international, has scored 28 goals and registered 22 assists since joining Juventus from Fiorentina. He joined the Serie A giants on an initial €12 million loan deal in 2020 before making a permanent switch for €43 million two years later.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been credited with interested in the Juventus star.

It is no secret that United need more quality on the wings, especially given how Antony has struggled in the Premier League following a mega-money transfer from Ajax. The club also must deal with Jadon Sancho when he comes back from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Furthermore, it doesn’t help that Marcus Rashford is having such a poor season.

Perhaps Chiesa would be a good acquisition and Juventus are understood to be seeking funds from player sales in the summer.

Chiesa was once considered one of the best young players in Europe until injuries stalled his development. The 26-year-old will hope he is over the worst of his injuries because he has the ability to make it at the very top.

Juventus to cash in on Chiesa

Italy World Cup winner Fulvio Collovati is convinced Chiesa will be ‘put on the market’ if Massimiliano Allegri remains in charge of Juventus.

The winger’s contract expires in June 2025 but 1982 World Cup winner Collovati feels Chiesa will leave earlier if Allegri remains in the Juve hotseat.

“If he [Allegri] stays, I am sure Chiesa will be put on the market,” Collovati told RAI, as quoted by Tuttosport.

“I’d do the same. Chiesa has scored five goals [six] and, considering how much Juventus invested, he hasn’t done enough. If Juventus find some English clubs eager to spend, they’ll sell him to get that money back. He hasn’t been up to the task for now.”
