Mikel Arteta has brought the best out of Kai Havertz at Arsenal but that has meant dropping Gabriel Jesus to the bench and the Brazilian star has said that it’s “the price you pay if you want to be in a big club”.
The Gunners signed the German star last summer as part of a £65m deal with Chelsea and the transfer was met with a lot of confusion by Arsenal fans and the wider football community.
The 24-year-old did not light things up at Stamford Bridge but Arteta saw something in the midfielder and wanted him at the Emirates.
Havertz has now fully settled at Arsenal and has contributed massively to their season in recent weeks. Across the last seven Premier League matches, the Germany international has produced five goals and four assists to cement his place in the North London club’s starting 11.
That has left Gabriel Jesus on the bench but the Brazil international has said “that’s the price you pay if you want to be in a big club”.

Gabriel Jesus comments on “unbelievable” Kai Havertz after losing place in Arsenal team
“If you see the way he works he’s unbelievable. That’s the price you pay if you want to be in a big club,” Jesus said via Fabrizio Romano on losing his starting spot to Havertz.
“You have to fight to play. If you are not playing the best thing you have to do is try to help.
“I never complain”.
Arsenal are trying to complete a historic double throughout the rest of the campaign as the Premier League and Champions League are up for grabs. Mikel Arteta will need all his players to achieve this and the Spanish coach will need both Havertz and Jesus to step up.
