Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance during the Saturday Night Live cold open on Saturday night (November 2) in New York City. The 2024 Presidential candidate joined the show’s opening monologue in a sketch alongside Maya Rudolph as Kamala. “Gosh, I just wish I could talk to someone who’s been in my shoes,” Maya says before sitting down at a mirror. “You know, a Black South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area.” Kamala is then shown as the reflection to an uproar of applause and cheers from the audience. Keep reading to find out more… “I’m just here to remind you, you got this, because you can do something your opponent cannot do: You can open doors,” Kamala joked, referring to Donald Trump missing the handle while trying to get in a garbage truck earlier in the week. Maya then laughs as the VP, who responds, “I don’t really laugh like that, do I?” The two then go back and forth rhyming words to Kamala, like “palmala,” “dramala,” “stepmamala” and more.
