On this special Blood and Guts edition of AEW Dynamite, surprises were in store and some fresh debuts have shaken up the AEW Women’s Division on the road to All In next month.
To kick off the night, the new CMLL Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale is ready to talk about her recent title victory. But, Nightingale can’t get a word out as Kris Statlander blindsides her and sends her crashing through production boxes. Stokeley proposes that the two women have an Eliminator match for the title next week on Dynamite, with Nightingale too battered for a response.
Next, Britt Baker is set to return to the ring against Hikaru Shida. Baker has been at odds with TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, who has been dodging a potential title match ever since Baker’s return. Tonight she looks to prove herself against former AEW Women’s World Champion Shida and hopes Moné gives her an answer.
The two rivals reignite this old fire and have not missed a beat. Baker looks to find ways to defeat her like she’s done before, but Shida does not look to give up without a fight. The two brawl outside and Baker meets the wrath of Shida.
Shida attempts to go for her patented dive, but Baker is quick to come back and follows with a Slingeblade.
The two are back and forth both drop to their knees. Shida wants to use her kendo stick but gets caught with a snapping neckbreaker. She tries to fight back, but Baker finds a counter and grips in the lock jaw for the win.
Post-win, Moné comes out and acknowledges that Baker wants a TBS title match at All In. Moné answers “No.” And to reiterate her answer, AEW’s recent signing Kamille, makes her debut to demolish Baker in the ring and has seemingly aligned herself with The CEO.
A second debut is also in the works tonight as Owen Hart Cup Winner, “The Glamour” Mariah May, reintroduces herself with a new title in hand and a familiar heel. Unfortunately for her opponent, May makes really quick work of her.
The win is short-lived as “Timeless” Toni Storm arrives from the crowd in disguise, drops the bob, and hammers on May. The referees and security break the two apart and Storm screams if May “prepared to die” because she is ready to go All In on her.
What did you think of tonight’s Blood & Guts? What did you think of Kamille’s debut and pairing with Moné? Will Storm finally get her revenge? Let us know in the comments below!
