Kamille addresses her potential future in acting.
Last month, film festivals began rolling out a new biopic, titled Queen of the Ring, about former NWA World Women’s Champion Mildred Burke, with the likes of Kamille, Britt Baker, Toni Storm, and Naomi all cast as characters. In the case of Kamille, her portrayal came as June Byers, a former rival of Burke’s. While speaking with Jimmy Varsallone, Kamille was asked about her interest in doing more acting gigs in the future.
“I think it just honestly would depend on the role, the type of movie,” Kamille said. “I do have certain standards, morals, everything like that. With the entertainment industry, things can get muddy and complicated. I never want to like overstep that ground, so I have to really [think about it]. It would really depend on the role. I’m not really like going out and pursuing it, it would kind of depend if it fell in my lap, kind of like this to be honest. But I’m not opposed to it at all.”
Kamille’s Experience On The ‘Queen of the Ring’ Set
When asked about her experience on the set of Queen of the Ring, Kamille noted that the acting element in film was a bit different than that in pro wrestling. Nevertheless, Kamille felt extremely honored to take part in it.
“It was just an honor because while we were filming it, I was holding The Burke as the NWA [Women’s] Champion. The character I’m playing, June, I surpassed her reign as I was playing her, so I think it was a bit of a serendipity there, like meant to be,” Kamille said.
“As far as the acting experience, it was so funny because in wrestling we’re playing to the people in the cheap seats, everything’s big and loud and huge, so I was figuring out how to take that emotion but bringing it in to the camera right here. That was definitely a learning curve and a learning experience, but I’m excited to see everybody see me do something different.”
