The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II

The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has advised parents against allowing their children to be used by selfish politicians to cause mayhem during the local government election in the state.

He made the call on Friday while addressing newsmen ahead of the local government council election slated for tomorrow (Saturday).

“As you are aware, tomorrow, Insha Allah, there will be a local government council election for all the 44 local government councils in the state.

“All those who love Kano, I am sure will agree with me that there is nothing we need more than preservation of the peace and security of the state.

“All those who want to create mayhem and violence are the enemies of the state; many of them were instigated from outside, but when they do this, it is our children that will be killed, it’s our wealth that will be destroyed, it is our establishments that will be damaged,” he said.

The monarch recalled what happened some months ago when miscreants were brought in to cause violence that cost millions to replace in addition to human lives that have gone forever.

He urged residents of Kano, especially ward heads, village heads, Imams, and other traditional rulers, to warn youths not to allow themselves to be used by enemies of the state to create violence capable of leading to loss of lives and destruction of property.

The Emir prayed that the election would be peaceful while praying to Almighty Allah to continue to protect the state, adding anyone who wishes us evil, may Allah return the evils to him, and all those who wish us well, may Allah reward them.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress has withdrawn from the upcoming Kano local government election, according to the Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, Prof. Sani Malumfashi. https://punchng.com/apc-withdraws-from-kano-lg-polls/#google_vignette
