The Kano State Government has shifted the resumption date for all-day public and private primary and post-primary schools to Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Pupils and students in boarding schools across the state will resume on Monday, 16 September 2024.

The development was confirmed in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru.

He quoted the State Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa, explaining that the adjustment followed the declaration of 16 September 2024 as a public holiday to mark Eid-el-Maulud.

“The adjustment is to allow students to celebrate the holy date marking the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.

“While congratulating the Muslim Ummah, I wish to call on them to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and patriotism and to continue to pray for the state and the nation at large,” he added.

The statement urged parents and guardians of students to take note of the new resumption date to ensure complete compliance.

Doguwa wished students, pupils, and teachers a peaceful and memorable Maulud celebration and a successful new academic session.
