Kanye West skipped President Trump’s inauguration because he refused to apologize again for his past antisemitic comments.
The Grammy-winning rapper, 47, claimed to Justin LaBoy in a video obtained by TMZ Monday, “I was gonna go to the inauguration but they told me I had to write another apology and say again that I wasn’t an antisemitic.”
Following Ye’s absence from the Jan. 20 presidential ceremony, it’s safe to say he didn’t apologize a second time.

West first made his controversial antisemitic remarks in 2022 when he tweeted that he would “go death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.”
Although his social media accounts were restricted and/or deleted, the “Gold Digger” rapper went viral in December 2022 for praising Adolf Hitler.
West said Trump’s administration wanted him to come forward and say that he wasn’t antisemitic. After losing on many business deals and being canceled by fellow A-listers and fans, West apologized to the Jewish community in 2023.
As for his support for Trump, despite skipping the Jan. 20 inauguration, West has always pledged his loyalty to the businessman.
The rapper first announced he supported Trump in 2016 after the latter beat Hillary Clinton for the presidency.

According to a TikTok video, the couple pulled up to the gathering in his Tesla Cybertruck as fans flocked to their vehicle.
Trump went on to win the presidential election against Vice-President Kamala Harris in November 2024.
On Feb. 1, he took to X to celebrate the win, saying, “Trumps back in office. Ye’s back a billionaire. The world might just be ok.”
West most recently had people talking when Censori showed off her assets in a completely see-through dress while walking the Grammys 2025 red carpet together.
