In a recent interview, Karan Johar shared his concerns about his son’s weight and how it has made him paranoid. Speaking with Faye D’Souza, the director of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani admitted that he ‘accidentally’ fat-shamed his son during a holiday, an action he immediately regretted.

Johar revealed that it breaks his heart to see his son consuming sugar and gaining weight, which makes him anxious. Despite these worries, he refrains from addressing the issue directly with his son, believing this is the age for him to enjoy life. “I want him to be happy and joyous because he is a happy child,” he explained.

KJo acknowledged that genetics play a role, noting that his son inherited this trait from him, just as he did from his mother. “I can see the genetics and I cannot call it a flaw as he has gotten it from his mother and his son is getting it from him,” he said. He admitted seeing his son entering this phase and expressed his determination to help him. Johar encourages his son to engage in sports and activities he himself avoided but realises that he shouldn’t impose his own choices on his child. “I wanted my kid to be an individual of his own choice. I am finding myself really struggling from saying insensitive stuff to my own children,” he added.

Karan Johar recounted a recent incident during a family vacation where he told his son he had put on weight. Realising his mistake, he later hugged his son, apologised, and encouraged him to eat whatever he wanted.

In addition to his personal revelations, KJo is preparing for the release of his upcoming production, Bad Newz. The film, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Amy Virk, is set to release on July 19.
