'Karate Kid' Star Chad McQueen Dies at 63

Chad McQueen – an actor you’ll recognize from The Karate Kid who is also the son of classic film star Steve McQueen – has sadly passed away.

The actor’s friend Arthur Barens confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that he died at the age of 63 on Wednesday (September 11). His cause of death was organ failure related to a 2020 injury.

His children and wife Jeanie issued a statement on social media.

On Chad‘s Instagram account, Jeanie and his children Chase and Madison confirmed the sad news.

“His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication,” they wrote. “His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent, but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him. He passed his passion, knowledge and dedication down to us and we will continue not only his legacy but our grandfathers as well. As a family we need to navigate this difficult time and we kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

Chad‘s last acting role was in 2001′s The Fall. He was also deeply involved in the world of auto racing and was founder of McQueen Racing.
