Real Madrid reunited with an old friend in Saudi Arabia as Karim Benzema visited their Spanish Super Cup camp.
Benzema took time out of his training schedule with Al Ittihad to check in with his former teammates.
Los Blancos will face Barcelona in the final on January 12, a tournament Benzema won four times during his time at Madrid, including two finals against their Clasico rivals.
Karim Benzema towards a return?
The veteran striker revealed in an interview with Marca that he spoke with Vincius Junior about his frustration at not winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or with a word of wisdom for the Brazilian.
“I told him not to pay attention to the criticism, not to lower his intensity because he is the best in the world, and one day he will win the Ballon d’Or”he said.
Benzema was also asked about the possibility of a return to Madrid before retirement, and with his plan to play until at least 2027, he is open-minded about what’s next.
” Why not ? At the moment I am in Jeddah and I am doing well. The time will come when I can see how life is going and I am sure that I will be close to Madrid again. »
