Karla Sofia Gascon is back on the awards circuit and making her first red carpet appearance since the scandal over her controversial old tweets one month ago. The 52-year-old actress stepped out to attend the 2025 Cesar Film Awards on Friday (February 28) at L’Olympia in Paris, France. Also in attendance was Karla‘s Emilia Perez co-star Zoe Saldana and her husband Marco Perego. Karla and Zoe are both nominated in the Best Actress category at the Cesar Awards. At most of the other awards shows, Zoe has been placed in the Best Supporting Actress category, despite having more screen time than Karla. Emilia Perez is up for 12 awards at the Cesar Awards, including Best Film. Amid Karla‘s controversy, Netflix allegedly withdrew their support of her awards campaign and stopped paying for her travel and accommodations to attend events, but the streamer has agreed to finance her trip to the Oscars this weekend.
