WWE’s NXT brand recently presented Vengeance Day, but the action continues as new storylines unfold. One of the next steps is determining a challenger for the NXT Women’s North American Championship, even though Stephanie Vaquer just won that championship on Saturday night.

On the February 18 episode of NXT, a contender’s match was held to decide who would earn the next title opportunity. Jaida Parker, Karmen Petrovic, and Kelani Jordan competed in a triple threat match, with the winner moving closer to a championship match.

This match kicked off the show, right after the explosive opening, where TNA Wrestling X-Division Champion Moose confronted NXT Champion Oba Femi. Karmen, Kelani and Jaida fought through a commercial break.

Fans cheered all three women in this match, but they gasped as Jaida Parker nailed Kelani with a chop on her stomach as she hung upside down in the corner. Then Jordan nailed a dive on Parker as she tried to take Petrovic down. The three women battled it out, with each one of them getting their time in the spotlight during this match.

Petrovich got a near fall after she sent Parker into Jordan from the top rope with some leg scissors. The action was fast-paced after that as the action moved to the outside. Eventually, Parker nailed a superplex on Jordan when they got back inside, but she wasn’t able to capitalize as Petrovic was thrown in the ring by her boyfriend, Ashante Thee Adonis, and she stole the pin. After the match, Fatal Influence jumped in the ring and ambushed Petrovich.

Now, Karmen Petrovic is the new #1 contender for the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship. The two will battle next week in Cincinnati, with the gold on the line.
