Karrion Kross has been part of the WWE family for a few years but it hasn’t been an easy road for him to make his mark there. While he properly made his debut in WWE back in 2020, he worked as an extra in WWE, years before that and Kross has now revealed Jon Moxley’s involvement in his WWE return.

While speaking to Notsam Wrestling, Karrion Kross shared how Jon Moxley helped him return to WWE. When Moxley left WWE in 2019, someone made a video for him with his name arranged into an hourglass. Some fans thought it looked similar to Kross’s style, and some had negative things to say.

Instead of focusing on the negative, Kross decided to turn it into something positive. He made his own video where he acted like he was searching for Moxley in Las Vegas. It was like a movie trailer, saying he wanted to work with Moxley, who was now available to work outside WWE.

“Jon Moxley exits WWE, and there was this video someone created for him—a promotional package where his name was rearranged into an hourglass. Fans online were saying, like, ‘I don’t know, that looks like Cross’s stuff,’ or whatever. Some of it got a little negative, but I thought, no, we could totally turn this into a positive. So, I put out this self-made vignette of me looking for him in Las Vegas. Basically, it was like a trailer for a movie or TV show, saying, ‘I’m looking for Jon Moxley.’”

Moxley saw the video and responded, saying he was open to working with Kross. This led to Kross co-running a show called Natural Born Killers, which was focused on Bloodsport-style wrestling. He was running these small Bloodsport shows in Las Vegas, and they were streamed on the Fight app.

“I had no way to get in contact with him, but I wanted to work with him. He’s a former WWE Champion, and now he was available to work with. Funny enough, he sees it and goes, ‘All right, let’s work.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, holy cow!’

At the time, I was co-running a show called Natural Born Killers, which was very Bloodsport-based. I was trying to get guys ready in Vegas for Josh’s Bloodsport. So, I was running these mini Bloodsport shows, streaming them on Fight and everything.”

The experience brought Kross’s MMA training back into play, something he had once thought wasn’t for him but turned out to be helpful. During the event, Kross wrestled Dan Severn, and after the show, Moxley made a surprise appearance. He told Kross he should call Triple H because working with WWE could help him make good money and go anywhere he wanted. Kross was unsure at first, but Moxley insisted and gave him Triple H’s phone number.

“What’s funny is that it brought my MMA training full circle into something I thought wasn’t for me. But here it was, part of the foundation again. So, I wrestled Dan Severn—which was awesome, by the way—and then, at the end of the show, it looked like we were closing it out. Suddenly, Jon’s music hits, and he comes out. The place goes nuts.

After the show, he’s like, ‘Hey, listen, I’m not telling you where to go or how to make money, but I’m just saying you really should call Triple H. You could make a very, very good living there. Work wherever you want, go wherever you want. I just have a feeling if you call him, things are going to be good for you.’

And I’m like, ‘What do you mean, just call Triple H? What do you mean?’ And he’s like, ‘No, just call him. I’m giving you his number. Call him.’”

Kross texted Triple H and when Triple H called back, he was surprised, asking, “Is this really Karrion Kross?” They talked and a few months later, Kross was in NXT. He felt like everything was falling into place, and he realized that sometimes one needs to pay attention to signs and opportunities because timing is everything.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, well, now I can’t not call him. What happens if I run into Mox again? He’s going to ask, “Did you call him?” And what am I going to say—no?’

So, I sent Triple H a text. He calls me back and says, ‘Is this really Killer Kross? I don’t know, you could be some crank caller or something.’ So, we talked, and a few months later, I was in NXT. That’s how everything started to align.

I was getting messages from every direction in the universe telling me to go to WWE. And those are the kinds of things you have to pay attention to, you know? Timing is everything.”

Karrion Kross remains the leader of The Final Testament on WWE television but he is more than glad he ultimately listened to Jon Moxley, as Kross was booked like an unstoppable force of nature during his first run in NXT.
