Kate Hudson Talks Long Engagement to Danny Fujikawa, Explains Why She'd Be Ok Not Getting Married

Kate Hudson opened up about her lengthy engagement to her love Danny Fujikawa.

The 45-year-old actress and her longtime love revealed that they were engaged in September 2021. More than three years later, they still haven’t revealed any plans to head down the aisle.

While on The Drew Barrymore Show, Kate opened up about the idea of not getting married and why it’s not an unappealing idea to her.

During the interview, Drew Barrymore said that her “fantasy is to get engaged and just stay engaged.”

“Well, I just don’t have the same kind of like, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna get married and I can’t wait and I can’t wait for the party,’” Kate agreed. “It’s the opposite. I’m like, ‘OK, I have to plan it and then it’s gonna cost so much money’ and it’s just a lot.”

She affirmed that she “like[d] the idea of being engaged forever.”

“It’s like the contractual thing is tough for me. I like my freedom and I don’t like to be like I like the concept of freedom and so like this thing when like you’re signing the government contract to me just my own thing is like probably why, well, I was raised by Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell,” Kate added. “They never signed the contract…they’ve been engaged since I was seven.”

Kate‘s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show aired on March 3.
