Kate Middleton has made her first public appearance since ending her chemotherapy treatment.
Middleton was pictured alongside husband Prince William during a visit to Southport, where the tragic stabbings at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class took place over the summer.
According to the BBC, the Princess of Wales and her husband held a private meeting with the bereaved families of three children killed in the knife attack, which sent shockwaves across the country and led to a string of riots.
Middleton has been gradually returning to work since her chemotherapy ended but this was her first public appearance. Prior to her treatment ending she gave out the trophy at the Wimbledon men’s singles final.
Kensington Palace, her household, has previously said the return to work will be slow, flexible and subject to last minute changes.
In a video message last month, Middleton said ‘“I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have completed my chemo treatment.” The highly personal address spoke of the “incredibly tough” prior nine months and called her journey “complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone.”
Middleton had revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy in March. There had been speculation about her health since soon after she first said she was having abdominal surgery in January, on the same day that King Charles was revealed to also have cancer.
