Kate Middleton is expected to make her official return to conducting public-facing royal duties at the Trooping the Colour parade this spring after recovering from her mysterious abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales, 42, is due to attend the event, which celebrates the official birthday of King Charles III, on Horse Guards Parade in London on June 8, the Ministry of Defence said on its website Tuesday.

However, a royal source noted to the Daily Mail that the palace typically announces who will attend the event and that officials were “not consulted” on the update from the MoD.

Middleton underwent a “planned” abdominal surgery in January and has been lying low as she continues to recover at home.

Palace insiders said at the time that she was conducting her royal duties from bed and would resume in-person appearances after Easter.

However, Prince William caused a frenzy when he was a last-minute no-show at a royal event last month.

Middleton put the speculation to bed herself Monday when she was photographed for the first time in more than two months.

She was seen wearing sunglasses while riding in the passenger seat of a black Audi SUV as her mother, Carole Middleton, drove near Windsor Castle.

Kate was last seen out in public on Dec. 25, 2023, when she and William attended a Christmas service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Norfolk, England, with their three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
