Kathy Bates had another funny moment during the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 5) held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The 76-year-old actress was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series, Drama for her work on the CBS series Matlock. Unfortunately, Kathy did not win and she lost to Anna Sawai for Shogun. After Anna was announced the winner, the telecast had camera views on all the nominees and Kathy took advantage of the moment! Keep reading to find out more… The actress first started clapping with a paper in her hand and nodding, before turning to the camera and ripping the paper, seemingly what could have been her speech. LOL! Check out a video HERE… Then, during Anna‘s acceptance speech, she gave a shout out to Kathy. “I have so much people to thank that I’m going to keep it short, um, thank you to the voters for voting for me, even though I would vote for Kathy Bates any day,” she said. “Thank you to our incredible writers. Without a good script, it’s impossible to give a performance to our fullest full potential. Thank you.
